About Rumahtenda

In Bahasa Indonesia, the word “rumah” means “house” (it could also mean “home”), and the word “tenda” means “tent”. So, what is meant by the term “rumahtenda” here, is “tent house”. Why the name? Well, it was chosen for a simple reason. This server you're accessing resides in a place which happens to be a tent house, a house (to live in) with a tent on its top.

But one could make up another reason for such a name. As this site hosts various kinds of things that haven't got their own places, this site is like a tent house, the kind of tent house that would be used for an emergency shelter. And that's what this site is really about. It's about providing a shelter, a sanctuary, a home.
